Neuromodulators
As we get older, repetitive facial movements like frowning, squinting, or raising the eyebrows result in fine lines and wrinkles. In our thirties and forties, we also see a decline in collagen production resulting in volume loss and lack of elasticity in the skin. Preventative measures are recommended to lessen the effects of aging on the skin and avoid more invasive treatment procedures in the future.
Neuromodulators help soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and stop new ones from forming. Neuromodulators work by disrupting signals to the facial muscles and inhibiting them from moving. The relaxation of the facial muscles will help the face appear more relaxed and rested while preventing new lines from forming.

NEUROMODULATORS FAQs
What are Neuromodulators?
Fine lines and wrinkles are formed over time through repetitive movements in the facial muscles. Over time, lines gradually deepen and become more noticeable. Neuromodulators like Botox, Xeomin, and others can reduce muscle movements and relax wrinkles, resulting in a softer appearance.
How do Neuromodulators work?
Neuromodulators disrupt the signals from the nerve cells to the facial muscles by blocking the release of acetylcholine.
Who is a candidate for Neuromodulators?
Most people and skin types are good candidates for neuromodulators, though your practitioner will discuss your candidacy at your appointment.
How quickly will I see any results after my injections?
Depending on the brand of neurotoxin, results will be seen and felt anywhere from a few days up to two weeks. Neurotoxins last anywhere from three to six months. You are eligible for a second treatment as soon as the initial treatment wears off and you see facial movements occurring in the treatment areas once more.
Is there any recovery or downtime after Neuromodulator injections?
No, there is no downtime after neuromodulator injections. In fact, it is recommended not to lay down flat for up to four hours post-treatment and avoid rubbing the treatment area.
